Nathan Burgess has released music independently since 2009 under the moniker Full Ugly. His last release, through Fire Records (UK) and Bedroom Suck (Australia), was an underground hit.

Burgess has compiled a release under his own name entitled 'Jack in the Green' (via record label/collective Collected Dust). The title references the English custom of celebrating the month of May by embracing nature in costume. This collection of 4 track recordings feels worn in like a classic self press from the 1970's. His laconic lyrics break through the tape compression to deliver the meanderings of a cosmic suburban cowboy.

Something in these songs and their lackadaisical production holds you like a long drive with your arm hanging out the passenger seat window.

Songs like Green Tree Frog, Grand Victory and Traveling Zoo show that Burgess' songs are deeply linked to a love of crate digger folk records from a bygone era. A revival that seldom sees the authenticity that Burgess offers on 'Jack in the Green'.
